I'm Back...

I have been playing around with minibikes and other stuff, and only been starting the truck every so often. Couple times I let it go long enough the batteries did not have enough to turn over the engine. I am still using the Optima Red Tops I bought in 06....

Spent a lot of time in the Bullnose forum when I had my 82 F-250. Miss that truck. Rode better than this one but got really crappy mileage.

With the advent of warmer weather, I have been driving the F-250 around town and to work more, and it just doesn't feel the same.

It must be my aging bones as the ride seems much harsher than what it was.

2000 F-250 with National Spring 10 leaf front packs, Rancho 9000X shocks, factory rear springs with a GM add-a-leaf shoved in. I used to think it rode well, but now I am feeling every little pebble on the road. The truck was built to pull my 5th wheel, but since I sold the RV, it just gets occasional runs towing a flatbed trailer and trips to the Home Box Store. This truck performed well with the RV, no body roll, etc, but now it seems like there is no suspension.

Don't tell me to sell it and get a car. I have a car, but I want a better ride from this truck. I have owned it since new and will not get rid of it. Hell, I built the motor in it. I rebuilt the trans too.

Point being, I am looking at softer front leaf springs and taking the add-a-leaf out of the back. Rear has airbags, so if I do go to the box store I can air them up.

I also see Velvet ride(Sulastic) still has their shackles listed as available, but should I change the thick front leaf pack out, or get the shackles, or just take a couple leaves out of the National packs?

Currently she sits about 4" above stock, and I am not against lowering a couple inches, but can't go back to stock with a 500+lb 1/4" plate steel bumper plus the 12k lb winch and 35" tires.

I also have the full Energy Suspension Poly kit for the truck, but haven't installed it yet.

Any ideas?

And for those that like studs...
