Picking up a Loadhandler for my truck this weekend. I see that the straps wrap around the tailgate. Buddy of mine has one and it works wonders. But the straps have done a number on the paint. Suggestions on what to wrap the straps in or put down on the tailgate to prevent my new truck getting damaged? Thanks.
Maybe putting a strip of vinyl wrap or similar between the straps and the paint would work for something like this? I would think that you might be able to get something that's clear like the material used for a clear bra and use the same adhesive to provide some abrasion resistance.
Microfiber rags, I go to harbor freight or advanced auto and buy a bundle bag for under ten bucks. The ones at harbor freight are what seems to me the leftovers and they just sell them in bulk bags
I like the idea of the microfiber. My wife is awesome in the sewing department, and perhaps I can have her fold them over as sleeves and run the straps through them. I'll have to see how big of a pain it is to attach and take off. I was just planning on leaving the Loadhandler on all the time. Perhaps if its not too much work I can just throw some rags inbetween the paint and straps for the day.
