Hello FTE
The 78/79 trucks have always been my favorite. I sold a 78 150 4x4 back in 2000 and bought a 250 custom early that same yr. I know the original owner. He had traded the truck in 1981 and our local volunteer fire dept. bought the truck. They discarded the bed, opting for a flatbed with a water tank and pump set up. Added a couple cab roof mounted chrome spot lights and finally offered it for sale in Dec. of 99. it had about 63000 miles on it.
I bought it for my work and installed a Reading utility bed and have been driving it nearly everyday. I have installed a new 400 and completely rebuilt the 44 up front.
I own an Electrical contracting business as well as a guide service for Ks whitetail and turkey hunts and use the truck for this as well.
Recently, i have been bitten by the bug to do some major repairs, upgrades, and plan to get started soon.
From cab corners, floor pans, paint, a lift kit, 35" trepadors, a front winch, to lockers, new glass, paint, and interior.
I really have no desire to ever stop driving this truck, my wife and i share an 04 f150sc for our family vehicle, she can have it, lol.
Several threads have already given me a lot of inspiration!
I cant wait to get started and with the wealth of info found here, im sure to learn from you all.
