I am getting ready to replace my fuel pressure sensor. It failed after less than a year. When it was working, it fluctuated quite a bit. Fuel pressure confirmed good with mechanical gage and ground was verified good. Has anyone used a gage snubber or a tubing and line kit to move the sensor away from engine vibration?
I used an 18" grease gun wip and a clamp. The wip you can get any where and it has 1/8 npt threads. They are made for fossil and synthetic materials so diesel shouldn't be an issue. You can get different lengths for different mounting locations. 1 1/2 " clamp i found at a parker store. It has a rubber coating and fit my glo shift sender.
Are you thinking vibration took the sensor out? Are you using Isspro EV-2? Just curious because my EV-2 is around 5 years old and has been working great. Once last year it began to fluctuate wildly on the interstate and I pulled over and removed the spade connector and slid it back on and off a few times and that fixed it. I must have had some corrosion going on there which I might be partly to blame for as I clean my engine regularly and probably got water in there. My sender is mounted to the rear of the bowl on a brass 45 degree fitting which gets it up out of the valley a bit and makes it easy to access.
The sensor was made by Autometer and is connected to my DP Infinity. One of the customer reviews on the Summit page for the sensor said that the directions stated not to connect directly to the engine. Just wondering if this is what caused mine to fail early.
