Is this sensor really needed?
The Fuel Filter Restricted sensor, is it really needed or can i plug it off? It seems to be leaking diesel on my truck. Thinking if not needed maybe i can retask that spot for a electric fuel pressure gauge.

No, it's not needed for the truck to function. Some cap it off like you want to do, however it's low fuel pressure (bowl) and not high fuel pressure so a electric fuel pressure sensor would be somewhat worthless in that spot unless you just want to see 5 PSI or so. New FFRS is about $25 from International and $55 from Ford if you want to go that route.
