tranny ?

truck vibrates in over drive. when this happens if you hit the tow/haul and get it to down shift it will go a way. or if you kick it down. if it doesnt kick down or shift into tow/haul and is under a load it gets worse. any ideas

I would check the u joints and the bearing on the drive shaft

A 1999-2003 truck doesn't HAVE a Tow/Haul button to hit. It does have an OD OFF button, and it isn't the same thing.

What you're describing is an engine miss. That's where I'd look first.
