What kind of mileage did you get? We managed a little over 20mpg average with a 96 5.0 AWD Explorer. I got rid of it when the mileage went to poop because the O2 sensor on the passenger side got lazy and I found that you had to pull the interior apart to get at the harness plug because there was no way I was getting my hand up past the exhaust to unplug/plug it in. I should have kept it because when it was running well, it got the same mileage as our 3.5L Santa Fe....except the Santa Fe was a little better on the highway. We just got back into an Explorer Sport Trac, so it'll be interesting to see what the mileage ends up being for us...
