Tonight we left baseball field and my 2005 excursion was white smoking all the way home. I Stopped Several Times And Checked Coolant Level And It Never dropped. I let it sit for a hour and coolant level is still at my black mark. So does this mean it's a injector? It poured down raining so I'll have to wait till morning. Will scanguage show any codes for injectors. If so I can program in the morning.
Sounds like a fuel problem. Both times I had fuel issues (clogged in tank pickup and the other was bad fuel) mine billowed white smoke like a chimney.
Using the extra parameters on ScanGauge's website you can add a ton of extra stuff to the gauge if you haven't already. I know the 6.0 has more options than my 7.3 through the OBDII port. Mine went crazy with misfire codes with the bad fuel, but no fuel pressure is available via the port for me. ICP and IPR may be helpful as well, but I'm not well versed on those just yet - just acceptable healthy ranges.
My white smoke from exactly a week ago ended up being transmission fluid dripping (pouring) onto the exhaust. Only happened when I slowed down though and it wasn't being blown back past the pipe.
It's not doing it today. After some research it might have been from turbo. We sat and idled about 20 mintues sitting at game because a storm blew. Do you think the turbo veins were stuck and then got unstuck today? I read this happened to someone on here. The coolant level has not changed and deltas are within 8 of each other.
IF the smoke goes away...then to me it sounds like your EGR Cooler. On mine, after about 4 miles on the road it cleared up and went away until I turned the truck off and restarted it....then the same process all over again. Hope this helps
Well I cranked it this morning and antifreeze ran out of exhaust. It emptied out the degas tank. It's now at the shop. Not looking forward to this bill lol.
