Hello from Texas

Just a quick introduction of myself. I had been a dyed-in-the-wool bow-tie fan until I drove my first Super Duty. My '99 7.3 F250 changed my entire view on what a real truck is.

Unfortunately, I had to lay that one to rest 2 weeks ago. I was driving down the road when my phone rang. I looked down to see who was calling and drove my 1999, 303,000 mile beauty into a 36" diameter oak tree. I wound-up with 2 broken ribs and a cut on my shin. I am truly blessed to have walked away in such good shape.
Should have just ignored the cell phone!

I've purchased and early 2003 with a 7.3 to replace it. So now I'm setting about the business of making the new truck right. It's got the dome lamp/radio/power window issues stemming from a faulty HEC (Hybrid Electronic Cluster) module. I've sent the instrument cluster out for repairs and hope to have it back early next week. This weekend I'll pull the bed off and install a flip over gooseneck ball hitch kit. ( The one on the '99 twisted and bent with the frame, so it's unusable )

Anyway, that's my quick intro, I should be back on the road powerstroking soon! Y'all have a great day.

So glad to hear you walked away from the crash. Good luck with your gooseneck hitch installation. Looking forward to reading your updates!

Thank you Ms Sheryl.

Parts have already begun to arrive from Amazon. I'm not moving as quick as I usually do, but I still keep chipping away. Plans are, to have the cluster problem solved, fix a bit of "loosey goosey" in the front end, spray-line the bed and do some programming. I had an SCT handheld flasher on the old one and it was good. I'd like to find today's options for high economy, beefy towing and whisper mode that is switchable.... Still doing research.

Cheers, Doug

You are very welcome Doug! Have fun installing your new parts. Let us know if you have any questions about getting your suspension squared away for towing with the gooseneck hitch. We are happy to help out
