I'm contemplating going over to e-fans at some point myself. I noticed the 2010 Expy has dual e-fans, and the radiator is similar in size, within half an inch. Did anyone try to retrofit this to the older Expy? I can imagine that those fans are specifically designed for the 5.4 engine and all that, plus they come in at under 200 bucks so for me this seems like a very nice option.

Mine is a '05 Expy EB with 5.4 and 4x4

Sure, seems like no one else has done this so I'll be sure to make a write up. I don't know exactly when I'll pull the trigger on this, I'm also planning to retrofit power folding mirrors from a 2010 (or any 3rd gen) Expy, as I'm lacking that feature and the 2nd gen mirrors are twice the price compared to 3rd gen mirrors. They are a direct fit on the 2nd gen, save from a couple of wires on the connector that has to be moved.

I guess some time within the next 6 months, I'll buy the fans, check the fit and then get a controller which most likely will be a DController

Hopefully it won't be too tricky on mounting the fans, I am downloading a 2010 workshop manual so I can try to see what is different between that radiator and the 2nd gen.
