2003 Expy Mirrors
My buddy (rat bast(#*$) just bought new 2003 XLT 5.4L Expy. His mirrors are bigger than mine, by a fair amount. Does anyone know if the 2003 mirrors will fit on a 97 Expy? I could the bigger mirrors for towing.

I can't answer your question but I can comment...
I was at a body shop last week and the guy joked that I better be careful because they just replaced a set on another Expy and he commented it was about $700 installed (not sure if he meant pair or each). Regardless, sounds expensive but maybe that's body shop / insurance prices.
The mirror contains the signal light and the approach (courtesy) light underneath so the housing is a lot larger than the actual mirror.
It may be bigger but it's also less aerodynamic...the suckers vibrate and howl at high speeds (on my at least).

I also have a brand spanking new '03 Expy :-).
I love the mirrors. But they are not wide enough in all situations.
I tow a 7 1/2 ft wide travel trailer, and they are not wide enough to meet state regulations.

I apologize, the turn signal and approach light is only on the EB not the XLT.
Not sure about the XLT but on the EB, the mirrors also tilt down when you put it in reverse. I hope they put in a heavy duty motor to deal with all the extra operation!

Ya I wish I could get something like the Excursion or F250 mirrors for my Expy. Towing would be a little easier.

I also have an 03 Bauer, and the mirrors are not wide enough to tow my enclosed snowmobile trailer. They also make the worst wind noise I have ever heard from a new vehicle,IT SUCKS!!!!
