I have a 1995 F-150 Eddie Bauer 4x4 with a 5.8L motor. I am trying to find a good lower intake manifold as mine has some deep pits in the casting and will not seal. No.1 filled with water, after replacing the intake gaskets on 2 occasions. Anybody know where I can find one? Thanks..
Not saying you should do it, but i had same problem a few years back. I removed the manifold, cleaned it real good. Then i proceeded to fill all the pitted areas with jb weld. Let it sit over night. Next day sanded those areas real nice and smooth. New gaskets and never had another problem. Sold the truck after awhile to a friend and he's still driving it.
Thanks for the answer, I have thought about doing the used parts way and also, JB Weld. I am afraid I might have a slight warp in the manifold and am putting a new engine in and want to make sure I correct the problem. Seems a new Ford replacement lower manifold is not an option , I might have to go with a after market upper and lower, was just was trying to keep my costs down. Thanks again..
I had a similar problem, but not as bad as to leak. I used a file, and carefully leveled out the entire mating surfaces. It helped when resealing the lower to the heads.
