some thing wrong with tranny
Hey everyone I have a 2005 f350 king ranch,I have a kinda weird problem.the truck starts up and runs great as long as I let it get to normal temp.but if the motor is cold it will idle fine but if I goto put it in gear it just dies.sounds like tc is locking but I don't get any codes.

Any other data, live info readings would be helpfull. These engines work best if brought to full operateing temps before use. Any transmisson information data. Temps, pressures, etc. There is a lot more info available and needed besides just codes.

Not yet I'm bringing it to my mechanic next week,but he pretty much said replace the transmission,was just hoping it was something else since it actual runs great when warm and idles fine when cold no injector stickuation.

If I were you, I'd take it to a Ford dealer and have them put their computer (IDS) on it. It "could" be a cold engine problem....it would suck to drop a new tranny in there and have the same issue.
List your location....maybe one of us is nearby and could run some diagnostics on it for you.

This sounds like a guy that's mostly interested in taking your money. It is very unlikely to be a transmission problem. Usually when there is a trans problem causing the torque converter to lock at idle it is worse hot, not cold. I've NEVER seen one do it cold but not hot.
