FUEL INTO FRONT TANK

It could be the breather tube up to the filler.

FUEL INTO FRONT TANK

I usually fill the front tank slowly for a while, and then crank it up to the maximum rate.
I dont know why it is like this, but I have lived with it...
The back tank is no problem. fuel it up at the maximum rate from the start.

Hey hannah1, turn off your CAPS LOCK.

The problem is usually not on the exterior. As above, the vent return or something inside the fill pipe is restricting the flow into or the venting out of the tank. Haven't heard a lot about this lately but it is a continuing theme on the site. Fill slowly (one fellow said it took him 10-12 minutes to fill the front tank) or get someone to have a look at the assembly. If you are going to polk around remember that there is an awful lot of fuel only inches from the filler neck. Might be best to have the tank empty and some dry ice down the neck for about 10 minutes before you begin.

Aw, come on....

It replaces the explosive and easily ignitable gasoline vapors with carbon di-oxide which can not burn under any condition you can put to it. Make a spark near a tank full of gasoline vapor and your hiers will have to tow what is left of your truck to a junk yard.

FUEL INTO FRONT TANK

Try pulling the nozzle out a few inches. Here in Kalifornia land we have those hooded type fuel nozzles that are suppose to catch those nasty little fuel vapors that want to escape and create smog. On my truck if I push the nozzle all the way in so the hood is engaged, it would take me a half a hour to fill the tank because the nozzle keeps shutting off, even at the slowest setting. I have to pull the nozzle out of the filler neck so that the hood is not covering the filler opening. That's the only way I've been able to get it to work. Of course now all those little fuel vapors are escaping and forming smog somewhere over head, oh no………………The smog police are going to get me.

FUEL INTO FRONT TANK

I've got the same problem on my 94 f-150 Supercab, I had this problem after I replaced the fuel pump. I noticed when I removed the tank there was a hose inside of another hose that stayed connected to the truck's filler (I didn't remove the filler assembly like I should've!!). Anyway that hose got bent a little and now I have trouble filling the front tank. Try what I do, Pull the nozzle out slightly then twist the whole nozzle clockwise until the assembly hits the gas door. My truck likes this, the only drawback is that the air rushing out spits out gasoline mist with it and it splatters all over the place. Once I twist the nozzle it fills fast.
Hope this helps
