I have a 95 F250 Diesel, i have a 6 position ts performance chip on it and gauges. In the winter the transmission often ran around 130 degrees but would slowly climb higher if i was towing or if it was driving real slow! With the heat coming on it will easily go up to 160 just driving around local roads and town for a while. What is the highest it should go and what are the options for keeping it cooler all the time, at least when i am towing???? Thanks
I would suggest installing a 7.3 super duty cooler in the bumper, that is what Brian at BTS does and it's what I did for mine after Brian installed my tranny. I just towed over 15,000 lbs and my temps never went above 156 degrees.
The 7.3L cooler is tiny. I wouldn't waste a cent on that cooler. I can't believe Brian would install one of those. I heard he installs 6.0L coolers, not 7.3L coolers.

Got any picks? With my ic in there man its packed!!
Years ago a friend of mine was having issues with his tranny getting hot while towing. He had an aftermarket cooler that he put in, but it wasn't enough. So, he thought 2 would be better! Well, that actually made things worse! He called Brian at BTS (they know each other) and he told him to remove both coolers and install a cooler from a V-10. The tranny coolers have a orifice that restricts the fluid a little so it has a chance to cool down. Without it and it goes through the cooler too fast to really cool. Brian told him that 2 coolers restrict the flow too much so they don't cool like they should. At the time, the V-10 coolers were the best ones available. Now he uses the ones out of a 6.0. Never heard of using a 7.3 cooler, unless you don't plan to tow with it.
Lol your both wrong. It is the 7.3 super duty cooler, the 7.3 super duty cooler is at least 3 times the size of the factory OBS cooler. Brian DOES NOT use the 6.0 cooler on the OBS because there would not be enough room for the intercooler with a 6.0 cooler. I just towed with my 3000 lb equipment trailer another OBS crew cab on the trailer and my temps did not get above 156. Can't believe you wanna argue with me when I have live data and the best tranny builder we have telling me to do it this way lol

I'll try to remember and grab some pics before I leave today! It looks great in the bumper and gets plenty of air flow as its right out front... I never would have thought of putting it in the bumper had Brian not mentioned it to me
