04 vs 07...

I have previously owned am 04 fx4 supercab with a 5.4l. I have a chance to buy a family members 07 xlt with a 5.4l very reasonable. It has 95000 miles on it. What are some of the improvements from an 04 up to an 07?

The cam adjusters with that ticking sound is gone. The spark plug thing is still there. 2008 was the change for the plugs.

Its all in the service history...wrong oil filter= dry starts on phasers. wrong oil=sludge. No trans service= trans issues may soon start appearing.

While the cam phasers were updated, the ticking sound was never completely fixed. My '07 has had a barely noticeable tick since day one I bought it with 42k. Currently over 130k now. Have a friend that has an '07 that was ticking very loudly like the older '04-'05s and had to completely replace his timing set about a month ago at only 72k.

The failures in '07 are not as often though, but they are still there.
