I have heard that the V10 is not going to be built due to all the problems it has had with the cam. Has anyone else heard of this problem. I am looking at a 2000 Excursion with 57000 miles on it and want to make the right purchase. I am also noticing that the V8's have a higher values 25-27K versus the V10 is 20-22K for the same year. It seams to me that the V10 is loosing value versus the V8 holds its value. Any Feedback?
I have been following the V-10 closely for 3 years, this is the first I have heard of the cam problem. Sure you have the correct engine ? The re-sale value of a V-10 is driven by local fuel prices. In my area the V-8's and V-10's will be close to the same price, the PSD's will run several thousand higher.
Hey! i am up in north fulton and had posted on brakes on our 250s. I had taken my in at about 15000 miles they metioned in thier statment 20 worn in back, 50% worn in front also, i have read alot about the 3/4 tons and how they like to eat brakes. So now at 21000 i will be taking my 250 to Akins for a full brake job, can you lend me any info. Thanks
Gav10, How do you like your Flow 70. I also have a 2000 SD 250 V10 and am trying to decide on either the 70 or a Magnaflow muffler......................Thanks.
I did my brakes about 9 months ago. I installed the Bendix Titanium pads. They stop the truck well, they took a long time to break in though. Don't think I would use them again, they keep the front wheels dirty all the time. Good to see someone from the Atlanta area with a F-250. Most folks on here from GA have F-150's etc. Checkout "JKBridges" site he is a North GA. member with a nice truck and a good web site.
orucco,
I like my flowmaster 70 series, it's just a little louder than stock. If you want louder you can go with the Flowmaster 40 series, never heard a Magnaflow on a V-10. I'm a old guy so I don't want a lot of noise.
Yep your right ! I was thinking single exhaust. To me duals on a V-10 are another subject. Started installing my Borla headers last night. Left side is done right side will be done tonight. Can't wait to get the beast running again. Also having a Diablo Delta chip custom burned. Guess you will have to make a trip to GA to drive my truck.
Bobbyboy,
DG aka V10KLZZ71S runs dual Magnaflows. He has the Superchip Microtuner and a enlarged throttle body. One of the quickest trucks I've ever driven.

I've never, ever heard of this, are you talking about the spark plug problem in the heads ? I think the 5.4 has a higher incidence of spark plugs blowing out than the 6.8. Anyway the Kelly blue book gives the V-10 a higher value than the 5.4. Trailer Life magazine recently did a test on a new Excursion and a new RV trailer, they raved about it and it's V-10. Said they were very sad to see it go, as I am. It's unbelievable that Ford folded up like a cheap lawn chair in the face of the granola eatin, tree huggin, patchouli oil smellin, tie dyed bandana and sandal wearin liberals who hated the Excursion saying it was too big. This is from people who live and drive in old school buses for goodness sake. Don't they understand that if we cut back on our oil consumption that it doesn't lessen our imports of foreign oil. It cuts back on US oil coming from Alaska. And very, very little oil comes from Iraq anyway, and what little does we trade for food, which US farmers grow. So they're actually hurting us Americans with their stupid, idiotic cr@p that they spew on paper made from the trees that they chain themselves too, and drive huge iron spikes into so that loggers who get up and go to work everyday, unlike them who are on welfare, get hurt or killed and THEN have to live on Govt assistence. Oh, don't get me started on why the Excursion was discontinued, or why all the bleeding hearts say we shouldn't drive SUV's. Talk about hypocritical, yea, and then some.
