External filter 78 C6
Is there an external filter that I can install directly into my steel lines running to the cooler? I have seen several such as the Wix 58964 that attach with rubber hose, but would like to stay away from that if possible... thanks

Ford puts a similar in line filter on when they install a trans under warranty. I had one on my '98 after the installed a new trans under ESP.
I think the Wix would be a good choice. They installed in behind the grill and it mounted there out of the way but still easy enough to get to.
I hear you on the "add-on" look, but hey, it is added on.
Buy two and put one on your power steering line while you are at it.

Since no company makes products for Ford I'm looking for a fitting that screws directly into the trans cooler line and then I'm gonna use Earls fittings and hoses to hook up a spin on trans filter. Like I said Ford for some reason is left in the dark....if I had a GM AN and Earls and a bunch of other companies make fitting that screw directly into GM factory parts and the. Have the line fittings on the other side, simple five minute job
