Well my tires are looking sad so it is time for me to get the truck some new shoes. My truck will not see off road conditions. Maybe dropping a boat in the water would be it and pulling the camper to some semi remote places but no off the road stuff. The local tire shop mentioned nexen tires says the local police have been using them for years. I'm not in the market for an aggressive tire. Just wondering if anyone has used the nexen brand
I'm on my second set of nexen roadians on our mountaineer. They are easily 45k mile tires and that's nothing to sneeze at in this 20" size fomoco decided to use. They are Korean and not anywhere near as sketchy as Chinese tires.
I had Nexens on my 2013 Kia Optima. OEM tires. They were noisy as heck. Sucked in the wet and snow after the 1st year. Only lasted about 23000 miles. I was not impressed with mine.
Well, that may have less to do with the quality of the manufacture than the particular design of that tire that Kia specified for OEM fitment. Personally I don't know either way, I've never heard of them, but the Korean tires in general seem to be fine. As mentioned they seem to be nowhere near as sketchy as the Chinese tires. I have the Kumho 857's on my boat trailer, and they've been great so far.

Are They decently quiet on your mountaineer? I not sure what series they were recommending but there was a SD in the parking lot with a new set on and they looked nice.
They do get a bit harder as they age but did not get overly noisy. This could be the tight directional tread they have, but I couldn't be happier with their life and performance. I went back for the second set and the tire guy tried to upsell me...i wasn't having it because these did so well for us.
I've been running nexens for about 4 years got two different sets on two different trucks. I'm happy with them. My buddy that works at a tire shop recommended them.
