I'm getting the low boost code but my boost is high (per factory gauge) what is strange is I can clear it first thing in the am (engine cold soaked) and everything is normal. 8 hours later (not cold soaked) leaving work is when it throws the code. I'm pretty sure the turbo is sticking and will be pulling it for a teardown and it's just the code doesn't seem right. Also will a roadmaster kit be ok or should I get an official garrett kit? Where would be the best place to get it?
Icp nornal at all ranges
Map 14.3 and stays at all ranges
Baro 14.5 koeo and goes up with throttle ( I may have map and baro swapped--bad memory)
Ebp 0 koeo and runs up to 27 or so depending on drive conditions.
On the vgt is 85% the normal warm idle setting?
EBP should equal MAP/BARO @ KOEO and then show less than 16 psi at hot idle.
VGT can be 85% hot idle, but somewhat unusual. More usual is around high 60s/ Low 70s
Josh
Ebp was 0.0 koeo yesterday morning. Warmed up and running at idle normal has been 14 to 16 but when warmed up for the day I've seen it at 17 18 at idle. On the vgt after cold soak first thing in the morning its 50s to 70s and does the 85% thing after warmed up and leaving work in the afternoon.
The wierd thing is if the turbo is sticking. I drive it about every day, no short trips, always to temp for 30 minutes minimum and it only started acting up after my temp got to 206 on ect Monday morning after I got off of the interstate Then took off from a stop light.

The EBP being 0 KOEO is where you should start looking and disregard the idea of a sticking turbo at the moment.
Unplugging the EBP should cause the VGT to go about 40% at idle, the jet engine exhaust sound will become more of a V8 rumble.
Josh
Bingo--I unplugged before I read this while I was doing my test run on the leak check. I decided to leave it unplugged and see how it does when I leave work--I'm betting that is it-----you are a genius I't did have the v8 rumble getting on the interstate--do here the turbo though--didn't look at vgt but will this afternoon--thanks again.

Couple of things I did notice with it unplugged as well.
The goofy turbo spooling down slow when letting off of the throttle went away, my lie o meter is showing what I used to see when I bought the truck (had lower than normal gas mileage for awhile now), and the grinding/rubbing sound in the turbo inlet tube went away as well. I think you nailed it Bullitt390. And it's weird how that sensor can cause all that crap---not a big fan of EBP right now lol.
Seems disconnecting the ebp did the trick
All was fine on the way home. I'll clean the tube, check the plug, and change the sensor. Should be good to go.
