What is EcoBoost? Ford's new family of Turbocharged Engines...
Not sure how old the article is but it's a great read for those who are interested.

I liked the read, but had seen much of it already. A good friend of mine, who drove a Lightning, was really into Fords and particularly fell in love with the Ecoboosts. In fact, he had the DVD from Ford that he showed me when we visited after I'd bought the Murano. Made me wish I'd bought an EB.
Unfortunately, Bob passed away two years ago. But I think he'd be pleased that I just bought the new truck with an EB.

Good find Tim, did not realize the 6r80 trans was based on the f-2/350 if I read that correctly, I had not seen this article, interesting was the conversion from dual to single turbo, Have to wonder the cost and if a dyno graph exists for the new torque and horsepower figures, the article briefly talked about the Roush/Yates engines in racing, that engine which uses a large percentage of stock parts.

Yep I've seen a few of those. Long as its done right, it can be and probably will be done. Down size is with more gear for more power comes higher price tags for everyone. Still would be nice if they made a truck off the line that could do 12s or better on the 1/4 mile. Stock '11 or so have been getting high 14s low 16s. I don't think its asking much. Wonder if anyone has taking a 2.7L and 3.5L '15 trucks and done a few passes. I also wonder how much power can they actually safely get out of EcoBoost without killing reliability too much?

All you have to do is read the complete article to see that they found a lot more power than the stock engine has. And things like 6-bolt mains say the engine was built for more. The 400 I'm building will put out over 500 HP and lb-ft with 2-bolts/main cap. But obviously with no warranty.
