Very good article. I wouldn't have tried it before, but feel much more confident about it now. Good pictures. An easy read. Thanks so much to Lee for the research and info.
If I get time this weekend I will take a few more Pictures showing the finishing side of things to add to the article. I just havent had a chance to get over to the workshop in the last few days. The weather was so bad at the weekend here that I couldnt even bare to go out of the front door.
When the weather gets bad here we tend to put clothes on, not take them off!
Spelling has never been a strong point of mine....and beleive it or not that is the second time someone has mentioned the incorrect use of Bare rather than bear to me today!
OK, I guess this means the article is prety much ok and we can move on to the other subjects. This means that both Chemical Bonds and Lead Filling are finished - any one want to tackle MIG or TIG?
I can take a shot at MIG, I haven't had enough TIG experience. or if someone else wants it I could do equipment/tools (I'm a tool junkie!) or metal shaping.
I am loving all this. I cannot help with the articles because I don't know any of it yet, but this is the way to learn.
.
Not knowing anything has not stopped me!
Just jump in and learn as you go.
And Ax, MIG is right up your alley - I have already followed some of your ideas.
I suggest you write two sections - the first for beginners who have no idea what a MIG is and why you might want one, and the second for those same beginners as they advance, plus the more experanced. We could call the second section "Advanced MIG" and work with other metals - the beginner has enough to learn just dealing with 1018 steel!

I'll have to leave the Advanced MIG to someone else, I have not used it on other metals (yet). I torch weld aluminum (so far), and except for the MDD haven't done that much in SS.
