Nerf Bars??? Steps???
I finally got my new to me 94 Bronco from KY. I'll have a few questions for sure. Especially until my shop manual arrives. Here's the first...
Only have about 20 miles on it so far and the family isn't dealing with the high elevation too well. Watching my wife get in is pretty entertaining, but my daughter crashed and burned on the first dismount tonight so I better do something soon. Anyone have a recommendation for a brand/style of nerf bars or steps that worked well on your Bronco? I will be lifting the truck just a bit, and no serious offroading where clearance is an issue. That's the current plan anyway. I was leaning toward steps, but it dawned on me you really can't mount one in a spot to allow for getting in both the front and the back seat. Two steps on each side would look pretty stupid.

The westin side bars look really sharp and are built extremely well. The mount is solid, and quite easy to install (no-drill). The price is anywhere from $200-$300 depending on where you get 'em. (chrome) For durability, I'd recommend the stainless, but you'll pay a bit more for 'em. Hope this helps.

I've got a set of the Carr Hoop II's on mine - they work great, but like you say, you'd probably want more room on them for getting into the back (10" step space) - they do a Super Hoop at 20" step space that fits the Bronco's. Mine were fairly inexpensive too, & all aluminum so no rust.

I have Westin's nerf bars on my '92....my gallery has plenty of pics. They have been there for two years and show no signs of deterioration at all. Rounds out the chrome around the truck too front and rear bumpers and the bars all chrome with black accents.

Got Smittybilts on my '91XLT.Black powdercoat,easy to install and they hold up great.Been on almost 4yrs. and still look sharp.
The 'step' is nice.Flat,textured and about 12-14" long.There's a couple of pix in my gallery that show them pretty well.

Thanks guys, I'll can get the Westins local and the Smitty's look good too. The home built ones look very stout for sure. Wouldn't have to worry about damaging them offroad.

Those home built ones look even better when they have been painted or rinolined. And what i liked was they provide a great lift point for a high lift jack.
