I was out looing at some new superduties and noticed they sit pretty level in the front compared to mine. I thought that since the window sticker from my truck said it had heavy duty front suspension package it had V or X code springs. I was very disappointed to find my truck has T Code.....that's right 4400! I would really like to keep my truck OEM and therefore didn't really want to install a leveling kit. So my question is does anyone know where I can get some X code springs at a reasonable price? I shutter to think what the dealer might want.
Check out ebay from time to time, or even a dealer. Maybe someone here can help ya out that now has a lift. I have some, but I need to hold on to them for when I sell the truck.
What truck do you have?
For a super duty the spring at the dealer is $130.00 you can also get them online at two places that I know of. Do a search for ford parts. For about the same price...Thats a good dealer price!!If you have a good dealer.
My truck has the U code springs 4800 Lbs. Brother-in-law's F-250 has 5200 Lb springs. Mine has the heavy service pkg to boot! What's up with that? Shouldn't my truck have heavier duty springs that that?
Ya I think they had a straw picking goin on for that part of the build. Maybe they ran out of one so they used what they had. They all look the same except for the early 99's
where are you getting this spring code from? i see two possabilities for a f250 A or B code and for the f350 i show A-E codes. we always got the spring code off of the vin sticker on the door jam. lower right corner has the codes we use?
Make sure you go by the letter code at the bottom of the sticker and not the number at the top. I have the X- springs but it states 5200 on the top!!!!!!!!
i am not paying very good attention, you all are talking front and i am thinking rear, sorry. there are so many front springs due to so many engine/trans combos. ie a 5.4 weighs a heck of alot less than a 7.3 so a 5.4 would have a lighter spring. i could sell you a x spring for $115 plus shipping if you want them.
If your talking $115 for the pair then Yes I would be interested. My email is jhopkinson@neo.rr.com and my zip is 44505, get me a total cost and we can do this.
thanks, John
sorry that is a piece so the pair would be $230 plus shipping. those are pretty heavy also so shipping wouldn't be real cheap. just guessing around another $30 for shipping.
