Bronco Newbee
Bronco Newbee
Hi Folks,
I just bought an 87 Bronco. I haven't found any trim package description, but it is a basic "strip-down" model. (no power on the door panels, no carpet, head liner, console, etc...)
It has a straight 6, with a granny low four speed.
We previously had a 95 XLT, and I kinda miss some of the comforts.
My question: Being that this is a really basic model, if I was to buy power windows and locks from a donor vehicle, will this chassis be pre-wired from the factory, or will I have to do all the electrical?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Most likely you won't find much of the wiring for the door electronics if the power windows and locks were not original to the truck. However, if you go looking for a donor truck, you can pull the sub-harness that comes from under the dash/firewall out to the doors. The main wiring harness most assuredly has the connection point for the power window/door harness. Best to get your hands on a good set of diagrams. the location of most major harness connectors are listed there.
