I have a new timing gear set im installing on a 400m rebuild. The crank gear when seated is only gripping 1/4" of crank key...is that okay? I guess I thught the key should grip the whole gear surface. Also, there is a tiny bit of play in the crank gear when seated. Not much, maybe .003, but play none the less.
Lastly the gears don't line up when seated. The crank gear floats to fall in line, but it shouldn't float should it? Thanks guys.
