Stone cuffs?!?

Looking through the standard equipment on the F-150, there is something called "Stone Cuffs". I asked the dealer, and they didn't really know.

I am speculating that it is some sort of cover on the leading and/or trailing edge of the wheel well that prevents flying rocks (aka stones) from doing damage?

Anyone have a picture of a stone cuff in the wild?

I'll take a guess that it's the black plastic thing that's on the bottom of the rear fenders behind the wheels that stops stones from chipping the paint.

May also be the plastic just behind the rear doors that stops the stomes from hitting the paint. Not sure as I don't recall seeing "stone cuffs" on my sticker.

I'll poke around when I get the truck and post to the list. I'm real curious.

Aha! They do go in the wheel well! The ad says "front lh wheel well". Now the only question is whether there are 2 (front wheel wells only), or 4.

Thanks OkieDoc!!!

I think I found the stone cuffs (see below). I was putting on the weathertech mud flaps today, and see this little black "cuffs" of sorts. They are only for the rear underside of the rear quarter panel, and the bottom leading edge of the box. Please excuse the fuzzy phone-photo...

So far, so good. Installation was easy; they look decent. Time will tell. I think they could have thrown in a couple more washers; I supplied my own HDG washers where it seemed appropriate.
