Question Help Please

I have a f250 and the od button flashes and the low range light flashes speedo dont work neither does the odominer. checked out whats shooting code it is shooting and its po500 and po500pd so checked vss and im not getting 5 volts to the vss not sure at all why. the book says take it to ford my wallet says figure out on here. Please help

First be sure your code reader will read all the transmission codes.
What service info do you have that says the VSS needs 5 volts?
A VSS usually generates a voltage in normal operation.

sorry i have a chilton repair manual 6-14 #52 it states with key on engine not running pull plug off vss and see if there r 5 volts going to it if not then goto ford and have your pmc checked out. I dont have the cash to do that so I am trying to figure it out. Also How do i find out if my code reader reads all of the trans faults?
