I have a 2002 ford f450 with PTO and a 12' dump. It's worked prior to me raising the cab and block to replace the oil pan. It's all dropped back down into place. Transmission fluid is all topped up. The PTO light SOMETIMES comes on when trying to engage and others it won't. Also will not idle up.

I am assuming 4R100 trans. Is that correct?
If so, then I also assume you unplugged the PCM or at least disconnected the battery. When that occurs, your PCM must learn which 4R100 trans you have (PTO or non-PTO). You have to drive the truck before the PCM can determine that you have the PTO model. Are you able to drive your truck yet? If so, then take it around the block and get it to shift through all the gears....then pull over and try the PTO again. Should work this time.
I will give it a try tomorrow for sure. It's just missing it's face (lights, grille and bumper) right now. And by the way, it's quite possible to change the oil pans without pulling the engine Or cutting the cross member.
