Im not sure where to post if i have a question regarding my 2010 ford f150 it has a 6" lift on 35's. The problem i have is while going around corners the traction control kicks in and starts braking. if i slow right down around these corners it doesn't happen but i have been in other fords around the same corner going almost double my speed and it doesn't engage on their trucks. i have tried holding the traction control button i can get it to blink when its in park but it doesn't shut off(usually it says advance trac off but i haven't seen that on my dash). Maybe theres another way of shutting it off?
Because of the bigger tires i know my speedometer is out I'm not sure if that will need to be reset in order for it stop engaging?
thank you
I know this is completely apples to oranges, but may be worth a shot.
Before I got into trucks, I had a 2011 mustang GT that had similar issues when I had bigger tires put on it. I bought it with aftermarket 20" rims that had very low profile tires and when it was time for new tires, I went with a larger size on the same rims. going around turns a little fast or accelerating hard would give me the same symptoms you are experiencing. I had also not had the speedometer recalibrated
I ended up disconnecting the battery for an hour to reset the computers. After I started it back up, I drove the car very easy city driving for about an hour and it seemed to fix the problem. I didn't have any issues after doing that, besides the speedometer reading a little low on the highway.
It may or may not work for you, but it's a very easy thing to try that only costs you some fuel. I recommend trying that first, but again, apples to oranges.
