Ok, I'm new to this sight and working on diesel vehicles beyond the basic care.
I finally got time to work on Blue, my 2007, F250, 4x4 that is my work truck. I purchased as SGII as it looked like a totally awesome tool...BUT, when I use it, I have all sorts of engine trouble. It causes stutter and the engine to die as if I turned the key off. I can restart instantly and then it dies. If it will continue to run it misses and sounds like crap with intermittent bouts of running ok. Unplug SGII and she purrs like a kitten.
I have an old Juice Attitude installed. The SGII takes away all readings on it except for the Juices EGT sensor.
SBP, did you ever get resolution to your issue with the ScanGuage II? I am having some issues that appear to improve when I unplug the ScanGuage II so I am very interested in what you found out.
I was going to say that you can not run 2 monitoring systems on the OBD2 plug at the same time with a y connector. I tried that with a buddy's Edge to compare readings between the 2 gauge systems.
I'm just throwing in something I came across with a ScanGuage, I have one for my 04 6.0 and was goon a trip with my son. We took his truck also a 04 6.0 and towed my 12,000 lb toy hauler. The truck was normally tuned with an Sct canned tunes so put it to stock and plugged in the ScanGuage and off we went, it was running a little hotter than normal for the conditions and I noticed a lot of coal from the exhaust, and power was more than normal. I'm sure it had been returned to stock but I double checked and it was stock. Kept driving and going up a small grade it gets hotter then it's supposed to be. Pulling the battery off and waited for a bit and hooked it up ran normal. I tried the same over and over. Now stumped for all intentions the ScanGuage was tuning it. I called Tec support and told the about it and they said impossible. They sent an updated cable and it's not happening anymore. So you cable might be older and short something inside causing the problem. I think my sons has a program in it that's activated by obd port being shorted. Long story but I would get the updated cable and use the ScanGuage it's a great tool.
