Hey everybody this is my first post but ive been messin around on the forum for a little while... Im working on restoring my 2wd 79 f150. Im sure this question has been covered somewhere else but i cant find it. I have the truck tore down to the frame and i am getting ready to blast it. My plan is to level it for now and possibly go lower in the future. I plan to do the shackle flip but my question is how far do i have to drop the rear to get the truck level? thank you

The typical rake is a difference of two inches in stock form... so a -2 in the back will even it out. Commensurate with that principle, -3 in the front and -5 in the back results in a level ride.
A full flip will net -5 in the rear. Btw, i hope ya measured your pinion angle before all the work began. A full spring hanger flip results in like 10° of nose-up pinion angle that will need to be corrected.
Welcome. Also if I may add, click on the Tech info hyperlink compilation in HIO's sig, also found at the top of the 73-79 section page. Go to the lowering section and enjoy some reading and pictures.
Ok... Thats what i thought, so im thinking my best option for now is going to be a "half flip" to get it level for free! are there any threads specifically about the half flip?
