I just got a 1990 f150 with 6 in suspension lift the frame is plated with 1/4 steel plate 8ft on both sides wondering if i would have any trouble getting a modified sticker because of the steel plate
It's going to depend on who you take it to. You should already have a place that you take your vehicles to, they are easy to get along with, and you know them.
Everyone should do this. Don't drift around going from shop to shop, and I would avoid shops in big cities if you can. If you have to use one in town, find one that looks over the major stuff, but is not picky. Then keep going there. They will get to know you, when a stranger comes in it could be the state police checking on them, so they have to be careful. Once they recognize you, they relax a little bit. And once they find out you keep your vehicles in good shape, they relax even more. This is how you do it.
Rules or not, most things are not looked at. If you paint the frame black, most people would not even notice. Why did they plate the frame? Was it rusty?
