New Owner Checking In

I have been lurking here and reading quite a bit trying to get to know some of the ins and outs of these trucks. There is a lot of great info here. We found out just a little bit ago we were having another little one. (#5, 3 in car seats) so the EX was actually the wifes suggestion. 2000 Limited V10. So far it has worked great. I do have at least 1 question though after reading about SD tow mirrors. I found a CL set for $50 that are heated and power but they are already off the vehicle. The seller had them on an EX and cut 1 plug. Just wondering if any one knows a bench test procedure to make sure the gears/elements are not worn out behind the mirror? TIA.--- Tristan.

I imagine just finding the power wire and completing the circuit should work fine. If all else fails pop the hood and run it off the terminal.

I don't know if there's a thermocouple that cuts power at a certain point however, so by no means run with my suggestion blindly.
