I would also like the see a status light to show when the regen process is on. And better yet a digital gauge that shows the DPF soot level so predicting a regen would be possible.
ScanGauge II does both. It can be had at Amazon, and I believe Advanced Auto carries them.

Yes. The ScanGauge 2 will say "On" when it is doing an active Regen.

Additionally, IMHO, the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" display should hold longer than a few seconds AND be accompanied with an audible alarm. I usually miss the display because I tend to watch the road. And, yes, the best way to now when a regen cycle is in progress is with the instantaneous fuel consumption display. If you should install an Edge CTS, then it would not be a problem.
