After the reflash my truck still takes ~ 10 miles to complete a regen so no change with that.
Also I use the Instant fuel mileage screen to confirm when the regen process has been completed.
I would also like the see a status light to show when the regen process is on. And better yet a digital gauge that shows the DPF soot level so predicting a regen would be possible.
ScanGauge II does both. It can be had at Amazon, and I believe Advanced Auto carries them.
I have the ScanGuage II, I programed the Regen X-guage and the Soot Level X-guage. The regen gauge says "Off", does it say "ON" when there is an active regen in progress? Trying to learn my ScanGuage better, thanks.
Yes. The ScanGauge 2 will say "On" when it is doing an active Regen.
I wish Ford Motor Company would have simply put an indicator light on the instrument cluster that goes on when regeneration begins and goes off when it ends. I know that the intention was, and is, to make the operation of the system as un-noticeable to the operator as possible and not have it be something of great concern as it shouldn't be. The truck will tell you when something is wrong... in most cases. I think Ford misunderstands the characteristic way of thinking of the people who own and drive their trucks.
Additionally, IMHO, the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" display should hold longer than a few seconds AND be accompanied with an audible alarm. I usually miss the display because I tend to watch the road. And, yes, the best way to now when a regen cycle is in progress is with the instantaneous fuel consumption display. If you should install an Edge CTS, then it would not be a problem.
