Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have a 2014 f250 with the my ford touch radio. In February I had to have the audio control module replaced because it was shorting out internally. Since then I've had a crackling noise in my speakers when the radio is turned up over half way. Does anyone else have this problem? I'm about to drop it off at the dealer for the 3rd time and I'm going crazy! I've been driving ford trucks all my life and I'm about to trade this one in for a Tundra....

Welcome to the forum, lancetowrig! I'm Crystal, the Ford Service rep here; I'd like to see what I can do to help with your speaker issue. How many miles are on your truck? Is it at the dealership currently?
Since the radio went bad it could have fried the magnets on the speakers causing your crackling. And honestly no factory stereo system is good, I'd spend two to three on a quality speaker and just install them. Having a crackling speaker is no reason to trade in ur superduty for a tundra.....
I would like my $2400 option to function properly without me spending additional money on it though. I'm frustrated that it wasn't repaired the first I took it in. Now they are asking me which one is making the noise after I asked that they all be replaced.

iPhone from IB AutoGroup
Right idea but not the magnets it the voice coils that have taken a hit.
Also it could be that they have heated up and the glue that holds them
to the cone has come loose. But how ever you look at it they need to
replace the offending one.

You can bet that they are going to play the squeeze the penny game
and give you a hard time getting them all replaced. But I think
your very right in you feelings. If one was damaged them the others
may also have suffered some stress and will give out.
Good luck. Work with Crystal. She has helped lost of people.
It has 16,200 miles on it. I'm dropping it off first thing tomorrow morning.
Thanks for responding, lancetowrig! Have you heard anything additional from the dealership this morning? Let me know if you need me to step in and assist.

They decided over the weekend that the upper door tweeters were the culprit. I just got them installed and the crackling noise is still there. I also have a buzzing noise in my passenger side door panel that's been there for a while. It seems to go away every time I take it in. I don't have any more trips in the near future and I don't have another vehicle to drive to work. I would like to get the rest of the speakers replaced so we can at least know if something else is going on. I stopped by a car audio store in town and was told that it could possibly be a dirty or bad potentiometer or a bad wiring connection or another speaker. They put my flash drive that has my music on it in another vehicle and it didn't crackle So there is definitely something wrong.
If you look around on the web you can find a 4 Ch sound test
tone in MP3 format. Then you can check each one to see just
where the crackle is coming from. might be worth you time to
find it to test it yourself.
I've unplugged them one at a time and I can't tell. It sounds like when you have an electric guitar amp turned on and your touching the guitar end of the cable with your fingers.
Look at the plug that goes into the amp if that is
what it's doing. Look very close at the shield. You
might also check at the head unit (stereo) plugs.

Crystal, my truck has been back in the shop 3 more times since this post. The issue is still not resolved and I'm not sure what the next step is. I'm tired of dropping it of every weekend. I'm to the point of calling a lawyer and discussing my local lemon laws. They are supposed to pick it up from my work tomorrow and look at it again but I have little faith at this point. Can you contact me please...

I completely understand your frustration, lancetowrig. Send over your information in a PM and I'll get this escalated up to your regional customer service manager. When writing, be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.
I currently installed new aftermarket speakers in the front and put a tweeter as well while keeping the stock ones and kept the stock rear ones then realized I didn’t add the capacitors and ended up blowing the tweeters no big deal until I was playing music and then the whole left side just went off whenever I key the truck forward I hear popping and when I change inputs not sure what’s wrong if I did the same to the left side
