Just did mine today. Opened it up and wrapped the resistor in AL foil. I used this video for reference.

I found that if you unclip the door latch cable and the wiring for the actuator from the door panel you can pull the actuator through the hole then unhook the wiring from it (if that makes any sense. I can't figure out how to explain that one well). Otherwise you would have to unhook the wiring blind inside the door and it won't be easy.

I still need to do this. It has been since 2009. Maybe 2015 is the ticket.

Here's a link to a door lock fix thread from over 9 years ago. This was where I got the information to fix mine about 6 years ago and they're still going strong. The guy that starts the thread claims he got the info from someone else, but this is certainly the first place I'd seen it: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...cks-fixed.html

Interesting history on it. Thanks for that. I took someone elses idea from here and used my soldering gun to seal 'er back up. So far it works like a charm.

I took a detour during the course of the job so I can't tell exactly how long it took but It went back together in maybe five minutes. Being my first disassembly that part took way more time and without some kind of guidance I don't know if I would ever have gotten that actuator off the latch assembly.

BTW I did kick myself in the **** for not ripping into my GPR after I removed it and before I threw it in the trash.
