1959 Door Lock Retainer Clip?

Well I bought some door locks from LMC Truck and I need to install them. When I bought the truck it had none, so I don't have the knowledge from taking them off.

So... I can't figure out if I have the clip flipped or not. With the new rubber on the outside its hard enough to push the lock in far enough to get the clip to slip on. Also, I have no idea of how the lock will connect to the door latch. Doesn't appear to be a part in the LMC Truck catalog.

Anyone have any pics of an installed clip, or any tricks to the process?

The part that goes between the actual lock and the door mechanism is not included as you say and I have yet to find anyone that sells them. I had to go to a pull and save to get that part.

So now that I know the positioning of the clip, is it supposed to go through the slit in the door jam, or do I come at it from inside the door?
