Hey there TwoF150!! If you haven't already started... Heck, even if you have, use SIMPLE GREEN! Way cool stuff. I know it's a bit $$, but the stuff can be diluted to go farther. But the stuff works like magic!! I use it for everything now. It's easy on interiors and can clean the grease off your hands! Talk to you later...
I would be willing to be it was an extreme temperature......any time something under pressure like that is subjected to extreme temps it can explode. When it's 95-100 degrees outside, the inside of your vehicle can near 200 degrees....a coke under pressure in that kind of heat could easily explode.
Yep, exteme heat will do it. My mom had a can go off in her Mercury Tracer and some Resolve carpet cleaned took care of it. One word on teh extreme heat, it can do wierd things to food. I had a tub of gummy bears turn into a kind of multi colored jelly. Still tasted good after it cooled down and thickened up.
The explosion was due to the heat. I had the can on the passenger side seat and the sun must have been on it for most of the day. The pop top blew and sprayed the dash and ceiling.
I had given up coke about three weeks earlier and this one was rolling around under the seat so I put in on the seat to keep from puncturing it before I got home.
Hey there zamboni250! I might be tempted to use the oxy clean on fabric, but I would shy away from vinyl and plastics. I'd be too afraid of discoloration and melting the plastic.
I have used it in diluted form before and never had a problem. But I guess it's possible to have a problem on plastics, never really thought much about it to be honest. I know it cleans carpet with great success.
