'06 5.4 engine replacement
Motor fried at highway speed while accelerating to make a pass. It had a timing chain, tension issue (loose, clatter). I'm pretty sure one of the cam sprockets teeth were striped. At least, that's what it sounded like to me. I assume this would have done more damage, with this chain flopping around, especially at high RPM.
My questions are: How much is it going to cost to replace this engine (parts & labor)?? OR: Would it make any sense to change to old school, with good ole carburetor, points,extra.... Witch I would love to do with this HD edition!!
