Did some more reading on here and actually saw a post from Clay saying the Donaldson?Napa/etc are all the same filter, made by the same folks..amazing the stuff you can learn on this forum,,,
Myself I am leaning towards the AFE filter for my 6637 upgrade, gonna get it from Riff Raff...
Still curious if any of you have fabbed a 'cold air' enclosure though, something to keep it from sucking in just the hot air under the hood. (or does it matter)
Also I must be the one lucky OBS owner whose air intake box isn't cracked...mine works fairly well...or seems to anyway...
I say go for it.
Its a money thing I guess, I have some immediate mods I am wanting to do besides just the 6637...
What I consider must haves at the moment...
Eaton Truetruc
A good A/T tire (without breaking the bank)
6637 Mod
Downpipe upgrade
Kitty Delete
Coolant filter
Those are the must haves
The wants are
TS 6 chip
Injectors --cups at the same time--(why not)
International Up Pipes
Turbo rebuild with billet wheel
I am almost positive the list will grow as I learn/do more...

I made a stainless steel holder for it because I didn't like it just laying on the inner fender. It is not quite a cold air box but does have a solid plate on the engine side other than the hole for the intake hose itself. It has a perforated front wall by the battery and open on top and back side. You can see it a little on the right side of this pic. There will be more pics of this set up when I'm done with it. It mounts the same as the original air box did.

Not sure how to make it a cold air box without punching a hole in the hood. Maybe put an air scoop on the one side of the hood. For now it has done just fine over the last year.
Running the bigger filter makes a world of difference.
I also had a perfectly good factory air box before this.
I also did a 3" downpipe and 4" cat delete exhaust on it at the same time. It is like having a different truck.
Out with the old..

This is the new....

I was very pleased with the way this exhaust fit. There is a thread from last June on here that I put my install pics on. It was an already started thread , by someone else dealing with exhaust. The only issue I had was the rear fuel tank strap has a bit of interference. It will get cut off this summer to get rid of the vibration from rubbing it. That is pointed out in that thread.
My list of things to do is alot like yours except the tires will be Michelins this go around. $1600 for tires is a chunk of change.
The other stuff might have to wait for a while. Got to get my Jeep ready for a trip to Colorado now. The F-350 is staying home this time. I hope..

I've run across post on here that the cold air box was not much needed as well. I could see it being useful if you did alot of stopped city idling or something without air flow past the truck.
Kind of why I only made mine solid on front just to keep anything flipped up from the fan or squirted out of something that shouldn't be squirting , from getting in the filter.
