Edelbrock performer package

I scored a low mileage reman 351W from an 84 4x4. Plan is to put it in my 60 F100, probably with a C6 unless something else comes up (like an AOD). I am kinda thinking intake, block huggers and maybe a cam. Have any of you just used the whole Edelbrock performer package with the 600 carb, performer intake and performer cam? Presently has 3.89 cog but probably end up with a 3.50 or 3.23 and 29 inch tires. I'd like to occasionally pull my vintage canned ham but want the best fuel economy I can get for daily driving. I also have a 71 Econoline motorhome with a 302/auto (not sure which one) and I could use that drivetrain but I'd like the extra juice for occasional towing.
I'm a 62 year old mechanic by trade so you can skip the remedial stuff, just interested in knowing what you guys are using and what works best. thanks.

On that vintage motor a set of heads should be on your list, as it stands it is a low compression(8.3:1) smog motor and if it is a native 2bbl it also has a pathetically small cam making this a 150hp weakling. Swap on some late model GT40 heads and you get a 1/2 point bump in compression plus better airflow, and then add a cam like the Comp 35-234-3 and you will have a stout platform for towing.
