Ok I have a 2012 F150 XLT. I want to level out the front of the truck and called my mechanic today about installing a level kit. He tells me the F150 will have suspension problems and blow through ball joints and axles every year if I install a 2.5" level kit. I think he is full of **** but would like some feedback on others that have one installed. Thanks
I bought my 2012 F150 XLT a few months ago. I installed a rough country 2.5" leveling kit. My ball joints were bad when I went to install it. I actually put it back to together and am preparing to install a 6"in suspension lift kit this weekend. I plan on replacing the upper control arm and lower ball joint while I'm at it. I assume whether you do a lift/leveling kit these will need to be replaced periodically. Luckily, there aren't terribly expensive. I bought a full set (upper control arm and lower ball joint) for like $115 from Rock Auto. The time to install shouldn't be bad; I think it will take like 30-60 minutes each side.
I have the AutoSpring as well. I bought mine with the AAL. Gave a bit of lift in the rear to allow more payload and to reduce sag while towing. Ride stiffened a little, but not uncomfortable. If you just want the level, don't get the AAL or blocks, or just buy some airbags for the rear if you want the best of both.

Here is my 2013 with a 2" level up front and Air Lift Ride Control bags in rear on stock wheels and tires.
I need to hurry up and wear out those tires so I can upgrade. And yes, it needs a bath!
