Has anyone installed the dual DVD on the headrests that ford offers ?
I am going on vacation with the truck this summer and thought it would be nice to have to keep the kids occupied. I have one in the van and it is great !
You would never know anyone is in the back seat until the movie is over LOL
This is the unit : VBL2Z-10E947-A
BTW $600 is cost of unit
I wanted the same thing but I decided on one of these. Less than 400$
Installed it myself and it will work if you have a sunroof. Wireless headphones work with it but I don't have any I just play it threw the truck speakers of let my kids use there wired head sets. Only connections are a + and ground.
That is sweet
I do not have a sunroof and I am not comfortable having a aftermarket vendor rip into my headliner. That is why I was looking at the headrest mounted dvd
Maybe I should look into how much work it is installing one like yours.
Thanks for the reply's
I did the same thing as Blapensee in my '02 F250, but with this truck I decided against it. I made the kids start using their netbooks they have had for years...and of course they love it. I converted about 50 movies to mp4 and they now have an entire movie library in their hands whenever they want it.
Go buy some cheap rca or phillips headrest mounted DVD players. You can get them for less than a 100 each compared to the Ford setup of 750 for the pair.

Nice job! How does it play through your speakers with only a positive and ground connection? Is it wireless sound or AV jacks?
It's got an fm tuner that you set to an empty station on your radio. Works pretty well. You can do av jacks but I didn't hook them up..too much work for me at the time I did it. Whole install took about an hour. Half that time was building up the courage to cut a square hole in my head liner. There's about 2-3" of overlap between the actual plate and the did player so there's plenty of room for error.

I would invest in two ipads before installing that. Wife's Yukon had dvd headrest and the kids never watched them. They only wanted their ipads.
X2. Prior to iPads and Kindle Fires and iPhones - we used DVD players. You can get holders for the iPads to clip on the back of the seats too. What I like is that they then can take them with them... (like in to the Hotel)
Also a hotspot for internet access also helps out too...
