I'll tell ya why.....cuz dollar for dollar it's easier to eke out performance out of a bowtie than a blue oval. And 502 cubes ain't nuthing to sneeze at. Btw, there's a 68 Bump on Hot Rod's website with a 6.0L LQ4/4L80E: Some May Argue This 1968 F-100 Was Desecrated. Some May Not.
Wow look at that junker hahaha I'm just that anti Chevy that I don't know how one could do such a thing. All that money into making the rest of the truck nice why cheap on a Chevy engine.

It's the sad truth but it still bugs me to see an old Ford with a SBC in it. Nothing against Chevys, I've owned a 69 Camaro convertible (appropriately powered with a 350) and an 85 Silverado, I'm just partial to Fords and somewhat of a purist. I guess I'm old fashioned.
It's all good, as people will still see a guy in a classic ford truck and won't know what it's powered with. So old ford truck still get all the credits
I feel the same way, just don't like to see Chevy engines in a Ford. I've worked on a few Chevy engines and actually didn't like 'em very much. Hate working on the ignition with the distributor in the back, for one thing. I once had a '67 Chevy pickup with a 327. Hated the truck, but that engine sure ran sweet, as long as I didn't have to work on it! I also once had a '55 BelAir 2-door hardtop. Wish I still had it, only Bowtie I ever had that I liked. If i did still have it, I'd swap in a Ford motor, probably my 351C, just to see the reactions from the Chevy purists when I popped the hood...!
And there's a ton of Ford stuff out there these days that's just as affordable as the Chevy stuff. When I was racing I ran a Ford 302, people told me when I was building the car that I couldn't run a little 302 and keep up with the Chevies, and that I'd spend a whole lot of money trying. I had less money into mine than the fastest Chevies in my division, and had no trouble running with them.
Yeah. Those of the bow tie brigade love to yuck it up when one of their beloved belly button motors is in a Ford. BUT, If they see a Ford engine in something Chevy you'd think the heavens opened up and Hell froze over.
Put a Ford in a Ford. Chebie in a Chebie. Etc.
