Charging problems

Bought a 93 f350 with a 460 in it recently. Driving at night I noticed it lost charge and the alternator didn't seem to be working. Had it tested and alternator is fine. The motor had been removed prior to me buying the pickup. I found that the block ground wire was not connected to anything on the pickup except for the block. Could this be causing my problem and where do I reattach this ground at? Thanks in advance.

The ground cable is supposed to be attached too the block on a threaded stud below cylinder 1. You may have a corroded or loose connection, so try cleaning them up a bit and making sure they're tight. Also check your belt tension around the alternator pulley.
