It is kind of funny to find this thread on a truck forum. I spend more time on my porsche forums, and we have to put up with ricers a lot more than truck drivers, I would think.
It seems every kid with a fart can and huge wing thinks he has something to prove when they spot me in my car. I will not engage in street racing, because there's nothing in it for me. What, I'm going to brag to the guys at work that I smoked a prelude? Please.
I'm lucky. My membership in the PCA allows me access to tracks for driver's ed events. It costs a couple hundred bucks, but it satisfies my need for speed under controlled conditions. No cross traffic, no loose pets, no pedestrians, and no cops. If a kid in a Del Sol thinks his car is better than mine (for whatever reason), I really don't care.
There are times, though, when somebody rides my bumper too close for too long. It only takes a moment to show them the "Turbo" script on the back of my car is there for a reason.
Not all Jap cars are ricers, though. I have seen some very impressive Supras. It's a real shame Toyota quit producing it. I know a lot of people who are hoping the new 350Z will prod Toyota into reviving the Supra.

Both had single turbos...but the GNX had more power. Both were hilariously underrated at 245 & 276HP respectively (reality was more like 285-300 for tyhe GN & 325-350 for the GNX). Considering they'd both run with the "more" powerful and considerably-lighter Corvette...draw your own conclusions.
