Good Deal...?

Hey all, new to this forum.

There is a 1955 f100 for sale in my area, and I was thinking about going to take a look at it.
Seems like a good starting point for a first project.

Any opinions on the ad.

Welcome! The asking price is about right for a running and driving truck. Doesn't seem that this one is. If the completed work was capably done - including any body/paint work - you would be in the 5k range. Not hearing the engine run or having to paint would drop the number, imo.

I'd agree with FortyNiner, I've seen this truck listed before and was not surprised that it had not sold. The pictures don't seem to give a very good look at the truck (is that intentional?) I don't see any of the actual bed parts in the photos, and the 'news cedar planks' appear to be plywood. For me, based on what is shown in the ad, this is at best a $2K truck ... seriously, who really cares about a 'new paint job' on the six cylinder engine, when the rest of the truck is in pieces?

It's priced too high for what it is. Something better will come along. How long have you been looking?

Complete engine overhaul including new paint job on the engine. i6 engine (223)
What part of that 'complete overhaul' ends with a bad fuel pump and carb?

Seriously, find another truck.
