Show Me Your Racks (Stake Bed Racks That Is)

I'm getting ready to build lower every day racks for my stake bed. I have collected some pictures but thought I would put out a plea for more. Below is my current racks. I'm thinking of something maybe 3 boards high stopping below the rear window and stepping down to a single board for the back half of the bed and rear. I plan to use 6" wide boards with about 1" between them. Spacing the bottom board up a little so water and such will run out and the boards will not be rubbing on bed frame. I have some metal boxes a little over a foot high that I plan to cleanup and mount on either side towards the front painted body color and will probably stain the new rack dark to black since the rest of the bed is black.

Please help me in my design.

Jim, I like it but on flat beds I'm a fan of either all flat or 1/2 the stock height. Like a short stock one..

heres my. The best thing about a stake truck bed is that you can use them.. once you have a stake bed you will never want a pick up bed

Here is my second attempt, The more I looked and talked to people I decided it needed some more PhotoShop work before I start cutting wood.

I dropped the third board across the front and extended the top board on the side. I'm aiming for around 15" high on the 2 board section.

I picked up the wood friday and ordered or picked up most of the hardware Saturday so I will probably start work soon.

Any more ideas or photos?

I'm a fan of normal stakesides. I would just eliminate the top board in your current stakesides and call it a day.

IMO, that's the right height.
