Bogs while in gear

So I treated my truck the other night and washed it, and I popped the hood and washed the motor off, now when I start it it idles high and while I'm in gear it bogs way down and wants to die (while moving, low rpm) and it's very sluggish when I'm on the Hyway in each gear.. The truck is a 92 F150 4.9 5spd.. I posted this on facebook and was told to pull each spark plug wire to look for a dead cyl I did that and nothing, I thought it was the TPS but not sure, so while I was pulling plug wires I found this lose wire chillin by it's self..

Did you check for water under the distributor cap?
If you get some in there, it'll cause a short. Pull the cap and make sure it's all dry.

What do all of you think about sending him to a parts store so the computer can be scanned for codes?

It's definitely worth a shot. I'm still trying to think of what could have just gotten wet and is shorting out. The fact that it happened right after you washed the engine is a big red flag.
However, the computer should show what signal is getting screwy and point you in the right direction.

It's OBD1 how are the parts stores going to scan the codes when all they have is a OBDII scanner

I would guess the Oxygen Sensor, but shouldn't that put out a check engine light or code?

The Sensor is kinda fragile, and I was able to wreck one simply by driving through a puddle (Doing the Moses!)
